Children in the Church

Children of the Church

In those wonderful early years we teach our children to ride a bike, enjoy team games, learn skills and so much more. We teach them manners and the difference between right and wrong. We also introduce them to the world of faith. We help them enjoy the rich annual cycle of feasts and festivals. We encourage a sense of awe and wonder in the world around them. We tell them of God and we teach them to pray.

Children are Welcome

Children of every age are welcome at all our 10 am Services in St. John's, Henley. For the families’ convenience there is a carpeted Children’s Area in the North Aisle with plenty of toys. The toilets are through the north door, next to the Children’s Area. The Choir Vestry (with an audio link to the Church) is also available during Services for additional privacy.

Sunday Club

We have a very happy and well-run Sunday Club for children from the age zero upwards.

Families can opt to receive reminders about Sunday Club events via a WhatsApp Group.

Never to Old

Do you have children who might think they are too old to join in with Sunday Club? We would be very happy to meet you and discuss how best we can involve your older children in church life.

Sunday Club - Fun Focused

With a massive focus on fun the children learn and play with Christian theme
When there is Sunday Club, everybody gathers together in St. John’s for the beginning of the 10 am Service. Usually after the first hymn the children and their leaders leave for the Vestry or Church Hall where they have their own time looking at the church’s theme for the day, doing related activities and enjoying some refreshments.
